Jaw Reduction

Jaw Reduction with Botox or Dysport

An angular jaw can give the appearance that the face is square. A square appearing jaw is often a result of the overdevelopment of the masseter muscle along the jaw line.  Treatment of a portion of this muscle with a neuromudulator such as Botox or Dysport is used to give the face a slimmer appearance. Jaw reduction can be performed with Botox or Dysport.  Placing these products in precise locations along the muscle, can result in a slimmer appearing face that is less square in appearance. Many patients choose to have this performed as it is a non-invasive method to improve their appearance.

Goal

To refine the appearance of the face from a more square appearance to a slimmer, more tapered appearance by reducing the fullness at the jaw line.

The Procedure

Jaw reduction using Botox or Dysport is a non-invasive procedure that is done in the comfort of our office.

Anesthesia

Topical anesthesia cream can be used, but is not necessary. Dr. Steiger uses the smallest possible syringes in order to achieve a virtually painless experience.

Length Of Time

Chemical jaw reduction takes less then ten minutes to perform.

After Procedure

You can drive yourself to your appointment and back home immediately afterwards. There is no downtime at all. It can take several weeks for the Botox or Dysport to achieve the final desired effect.
