Secret RF – Microneedling with Radiofrequency
Secret RF is a customized dermal remodeling treatment that helps combat the signs of aging in all skin types. It is a novel technology that provides a combined fractional radio frequency (RF) and microneedling treatment all in one device. As in traditional microneedling treatments, small needles are used to penetrate the skin of the area to be treated. The depth of the needle is precisely controlled by the robotic arm of the device and set by the provider. The micro-needles then precisely deliver RF energy into the depths of the skin. Secret RF is designed to stimulate collagen faster and more effectively than the traditional methods of microneedling.
Secret RF is also safer than the traditional methods of radio frequency. The combined duo gives patients faster results than each technology alone. The delivery of fractionated radiofrequency using a 64pin microneedling tip, allows us to treat skin of all colors. There is less bulk heating and skin surface trauma, while concentrating the energy to the dermis. The dermal layer is where new collagen and elastin are produced. A minimum of three treatments spaced one month apart is required to see optimum results, however sometimes more treatments may be recommended.
Secret RF is designed to repair and refresh the appearance of all skin types. Secret RF can deliver energy at various depths. Treatment strength and depth will be tailored to address a patient’s individual concerns such as; fine lines, loss of elasticity, acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, and stretch marks.
Goal
To improve the appearance of the skin of the face/neck without surgery and minimal downtime. Secret RF can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity, acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, and stretch marks.
The Procedure
The Secret RF device is applied to the skin. 64 microneedles are controlled by a robotic arm and placed at pre-determined depth within your skin. The device then delivers the radiofrequency energy at the ideal level. The energy and depth are both tailored to your specific skin type and goals.
Anesthesia
Secret RF is performed in the comfort of our office under local (topical) anesthesia. To help you relax, a prescription may also be given prior to the procedure. Pronox(a.k.a. laughing gas) is an alternative method to assist in relaxation if the patient prefers to drive themselves home.
Length Of Time
The procedure itself takes approximately one hour to complete. We will apply topical anesthesia prior to the procedure. Total time is around two hours.
After Procedure
You may go home immediately after your treatment. If a prescribed medication was taken prior to the procedure a family member or friend will need to drive you home. If Pronox (a.k.a laughing gas) was used, no driver is needed. Specific instructions on how to take care of your skin after the procedure will be given to you. There are specific products you must purchase or have, for post procedure care. It is important that you follow these instructions in order to obtain the best possible results.
Recovery
Your skin will be red and warm like a sunburn sensation immediately after the treatment. Some redness and swelling can last up to a week. Patients are allowed to resume makeup 24 hours after their treatment. Occasionally bruising, fine crusts or scabs may develop that look like dots, this is normal. Do not pick or scrub this off. Collagen production and skin remodeling are seen 6-12 weeks after each treatment. You will not see your final results until 12-16 weeks after your series of three treatments. The more treatments and the greater the intensity of treatments, results in a more significant improvement.
