Steiger Facial Plastic Surgery is proud to announce that we have been designated as only Merz Radiesse Hands Center of Excellence in Palm Beach County to Date.
The hands: previously a telltale sign of aging. Although facial plastic surgery can definitely create a younger-looking appearance, the hands have always been a true indicator of one’s age. Until now. Recently, the FDA approved Radiesse® as the first and only injectable dermal filler for hand augmentation, to create fuller, younger-looking hands.
Steiger Facial Plastic Surgery, led by acclaimed South Florida Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jacob D. Steiger, M.D. has recently been designated as the only Merz Radiesse Hands Center of Excellence in Palm Beach County to date. Manufactured by Merz Aesthetics, Radiesse can correct volume loss in the dorsum (back) of the hands, providing smooth and natural-appearing results for up to one year. It provides an immediate volumizing effect in the hands, while simultaneously decreasing the prominence of tendons and veins. Milky in color, Radiesse is nontransparent and can hide veins. It’s injected under the skin in a fanning motion.
Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxyapatite, a naturally occurring mineral in the body. With Radiesse, there’s no risk of infectious transmission, because it’s synthetic (not derived from human or animal tissue). First approved by the FDA in 2006 to fill smile lines, it has since been utilized to fill in lines and wrinkles, and reshape facial contour.
Radiesse can involve minimal side effects in the hands, such as swelling, redness, pain and bruising. Side effects are usually mild to moderate, and normally last approximately one week.
A double board-certified, Ivy League-trained physician, Dr. Steiger performs the Radiesse hand injection procedure in the comfort of his state-of-the-art Steiger Facial Plastic Surgery center in Boca Raton.
