Rosacea and Facial Telangiectasia Laser Treatment
We have a new laser treatment to tell you about. For some facial skin conditions such as Rosacea and spider veins, which can really become embarrassing and unsightly if there is heavy sun exposure or even from simple genetics.
Tonight Channel 10's Stacy Burch shows us this new laser that can resolve these and other skin conditions often with just one treatment.
Years of too much fun in the Florida sun has left Karen with a common facial skin problem.

Boca Raton plastic surgeon, Dr. Jacob Steiger says facial redness and broken blood vessels are a very common complaint. Both can be the result of a skin condition called Rosacea.
Dr. Steiger: "It' somewhat still a scientific dilemma as to what exactly is causing Rosacea. We know that it is very common in certain cultures more then others and it a very common condition that affects many people who are looking for treatment."
Dr. Steiger is now working with a device called the Excel V laser. The device can deliver more intense energy then other devices. Accomplishing in one treatment what may take up to five treatments with other devices.
Patient: "It feels like rubber bands snapping up against your skin. Then when its finished it burns for about 10-15 minutes and then it just goes away."
The laser can also target post-surgical bruising.
Dr. Steiger: "You see it right in front of your eyes. You see these vessels just disappear. Which is amazing. You don's see that with the IPL and you really don't see that either with the pulse dye laser."
Karen is thrilled with the results. For the first time in years she feels confident enough to leave the house without any makeup on.
Another bonus with these treatment, since it is virtually painless, injections or topical anesthesia are not necesssary. The process is also very quick.
And the laser sessions raise in price from 200-500 dollars depending on the size of the area being treated.
