Rhinoplasty Recovery – 6 Days After Surgery
He is only six days after having his rhinoplasty to improve the appearance of his nose and to correct a deviated septum. He is speaking here only minutes after having the nasal splint (nose cast) is removed. After rhinoplasty, Dr. Steiger will remove your splint (the splint is the cast that covers part of the nasal skin after surgery) the week after your surgery. Dr. Steiger does not pack the nose after rhinoplasty or septoplasty surgery which significantly reduces pain and discomfort. The nose is swollen during the recovery process and this begins to decrease the week after surgery. As the weeks go by, the shape of his new nose will be revealed.

Patient: Hi my name is Jordan, I went to Dr. Steiger for a septorhinoplasty. My surgery was 6 days ago and I got the cast off today. This is what my nose looks like. I am very happy with the results. It looks very good, it's still a little swollen but I have minimal bruising. I found that icing a lot the first two days helped a lot, and also sleeping with a humidifier next to my bed helped to breathe better. I can't wait for the swelling to go down more and to see what my nose is going to look like in a few weeks.
